In a properly organized garage, everything will be in its own place; drill on the Power Shelf, hammer on the workbench. Getting started with great garage organization can be as simple as keeping all gardening tools such as rakes, hoses, and lawn fertilizer in one part of the garage, and all power tools in another. Making a designated place for separate sets of tools will save you time in the long run. Don't you just hate rummaging through the tool box for that one pair of pliers? Items can be placed in boxes, on storage shelves, or inside of any garage organizer you purchase at the local home improvement store.
Shelves also free up space so you can add more equipment as desired. You will be able to balance the equipment that you have and build upon your system. If you are disorganized, you are not able to do this. By incorporating organization with the right amount of shelves you will have more room than you ever imagined, so you will be able to add equipment that you have always wanted.
Once the paint or stain is completely dry, apply varnish. This will give the shelf a protective finish that minimizes day-to-day wear and tear. If you want the shelf to be glossy, apply a second coat of varnish. You should gently sand the shelf between varnish coats to ensure a smooth finish.
